"I purchased this unit and had it installed about 2 years ago. It has been nothing but a headache for me. The lower bracket that holds the piston has broken 3 times. (The part is about $12 with the shipping about $16.) It takes about 2 hours and a hoist to replace it. The last time I spoke with the service parts person at CMC he accused me of runing over stuff and breaking it which is false. I feel the aluminum brackets are just too weak. I have a 25 Johnson which is smaller than what it is rated for. Good luck if you purchase a lemon like I did. I am giving up on the unit and just remounting the motor without a tilt."

"after the tilt mechenism broke on my 25 johson, i decided to invest in the pt 35, being handicapped i figured it would be easier to sit in the driveres seat and raise the motor for shallow operation than fixing the oem mechenism. it's made my life easier and it does work great"
