"I bought this reel for my son for bonefishing. He loves it. Drag seems to work very well. Too soon to say if it will last forever, otherwise 5 stars. You have to remove a screw to get the spool off, but this is exactly how you remove the spool from some $700 Tibor reels, no big deal."

"This is the second GC lll I've had and they suffer from the same problem - Bad Drag!! The first reel was replaced after one salmon fishing trip for kings. 3 fish - 3 runs and a smoked drag. The second one lasted 3 days on silver salmon with the same result - smoked drag. Seems like the carbon fiber disk can't standup to the heat. Buy another reel with a dependable drag for hard running fish."
"I have to say I was skeptical when I was looking at the G/C 3 series. When I started casting on the first day I thought it to be a little heavy but after a few casts and many fishing days later I find it to be the only reel that I want to cast. I've only seen one review regarding the extra spool and the process it takes to change them out and that has me somewhat concerned but as far as the reel itself I'm completely satisfied."
