Can be made to work, September 17, 2009
By Shadillac from Alamo City, TX (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Advantages: Value for money, customizeable
Disadvantages: Performance, inserts too small

"I decided to try some of the BPS Tungsten worm weights. They are on average .50 to .60 cheaper than the name brand.

I customized them.
I decided to try these along with some of the Pro-Tec powder coat found at BPS. I drilled the inserts out of 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 size weights with a 1/16 drill bit. No problems there. Now they are ready to use a rubber peg it if desired. I took it another step and jabbed round toothpicks in both ends to plug the holes. Followed the directions on the protec accept multiple heat time x2 with lighter for tungsten. Swirled them in some junebug and some in watermelon. They coated up great and look almost exactly like the TT brand. Then, I stabbed the toothpicks through a foil pan to make the weights stand up like tombstones in the pan. Baked them for 20 min's at 350 per directions. The finish got even better and smoother.

I have yet to see these cut the line however fishing a stumpy reseviour I retie after every fish.

This is alot of trouble IMO and for .50 more the TT is less hassle but these can be made to work with a little effort. You might be saving .40 per weight after all is said and done.

Good Fishing!"

Never again !!!!!, August 31, 2009
By bayoubasser from Bayou Country (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Disadvantages: hole size too small

"I purchased the 1/8 oz. and I couldn't use them with my Power Pro braided line because the hole in the weight was so small. Tried to drill them out and the insert came out , I thought this would work until my line started to fray. I'll go back to the Tru Tungsten weights, I haven't had any problems with them"

Good weights, August 7, 2009
By BBK1 from E Iowa (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

"These weights are good to use if your a beginner or can't afford the top of the line. They work great but in my opinion they are no better then lead. Pay the extra money and get a quality tungsten weight."
