GS series Graphite Rods,May 26, 2006

"I own and have owned virtually every rod manufactured at some time or another. I purchased 2 of these rods to replace one AllStar that was lost into the water as a result of a paddle boat. Anyway After purchasing 2 I went back and bought 2 more.. This rod is so sensitive and has a soft tip and a very strong backbone. I didn't need but one of the rods but now I own 4 of them to add to some 40 other rods I own.. Another point is that they, Bass Pro must have some exceptional company making these blanks. Many of the blanks commercially available as "name brands" are made with the backbone not straight which changes the action and torque when fishing. These rods all seem to be very straight and the action of each of type is very reliable and similar, one to the other... Not so with many... Try one of these rods and I think if you think you need another rod you'll buy another..."

"this rod is awesome for a 35 dollar rod. This rod is I think more sensative than a rod that costs 150 dollars why pay more for less when you can spend less and get more."

"I really like these rods for the price. I own All-Stars and Falcons and they are great rods, but for the price you really can't beat the Graphite Series. I really don't notice any quality or performance differences that would make me spend the extra bucks. Not to mention that this rod series does not have the terrible "power hump" like the other BPS rods.
If you find a great deal on All-Star or Falcon, by all means jump on it - I certainly would. But for the money this could be the rod for you. I pass on the spinning rods though, I do not like the reel seats."

"I recently purchased a 7' MH graphite IM6 rod and it is performing extremely well. Sensitive enough to fill the little bites and enough backbone to land them no problem. Wish it had the open blank where the reel seat is so you could have even more feel but you can spend a little more and get a tourney special and they do have that."
