Great Value, August 7, 2009
By SkiAndFish from Summit County, Colorado (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"I purchased an 8'6" 5wt for my little guy and have ended up using it for myself on many occasions. While it isn't a Winston Boron or Sage Z-axis it is a fraction of the price! Plus, I have a hard time purchasing an expensive rod/reel for fishing many of the local Colorado trout rivers. Get this TFO for smaller fish and water and I don't think you will be disappointed!!!"

Stonker (English slang for excellent), July 13, 2009
By kitsontribe from Preston, England (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money

"Lets start with the fact that I have only purchased rod two weeks ago and have fished with it once on Mosquito Lagoon, Florida while doing the family thing in Orlando.
But, as a fly fisherman of 40 years and still being able to throw a fair line, the casting ability of the 9' #9 wt rod I purchased took me by surprise. In a brisk wind I could throw a long line with large flies turning over without any real problems.
Better still, the blank is matt finished so no flash in the sunlight. Unfortunately, the guide put me over a lot of Black Drum and a few Redfish but neither wanted what I had on. My son, fishing bait caught a couple of smaller seatrout. So I never got to try it out whilst playing a fish.
It will get some testing when I go sea fishing in UK for Sea-Bass and also for Salmon and Northern Pike.
So far, as I said, it's a Stonker (And if that means something else in the US, then I am sorry if it offends anyone)"

Excellent rod for a great price, July 12, 2009
By MOTroutFisher from Raytown, MO (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Value for money, price, warranty

"I bought a 7ft 6in 3 wt. last year for dry fly fishing and I absolutely love this rod. I have not tried to cast it a long distance especially into the wind but I like the touch and the feel of this rod and it is a 3 wt. so I don't expect it to cast a long distance. I also own a 9ft 5wt. TiCr by TFO and it is an excellent rod as well. But even it can have problems casting into the wind, especially if you don't let the rod load the line correctly and have a tight loop. For the price, you can't beat any fly rod made by TFO. Because of the faster action of these rods, you have to get used to the feel of the rod and make sure you wait for the rod to load the line. A TFO will take less effort to shoot the line farther with a more gentle touch. I think if you buy one, you won't be sorry!"
