best bait holder, December 28, 2008
By channelcatta from Stuyvesant NY (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

"holds bait better than anything advertised, the only inconvieneince is that i had to make it a leader rig and takes a while to unpakage and needs a bigger treble because it gets stuck in the mesh. but it holds bait the best and that is what counts.!!!!"

THE END OF BAIT WOES, November 21, 2006
By tRACKERTAHOE from CA. (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

"THESE DIP HOLDERS ARE ALWAYS ASSIGNED A 'CATFISH' LURE TITLE AND IT'S NOT TRUE. I FISH SALTWATER ONLY AND IT ONLY REQUIRES CHANGING DIPS OR MIXING IN ANCHOVY, GRASS SHRIMP,OR OTHER GROUND BAITMUSH RIGHT INTO THE BILL DANCE STICKY CATFISH DIP TO ATTRACT STRIPER,KINGFISH, AND VARIOUS ROCKFISH TYPES.. THE BILL DANCE LURES ARE STURDY,GET BOTH THE LONG ONES AND THE SHORTER ONES AS FISH SEEM TO CHANGE SIZE PREFERENCE ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. I TAKE A NEEDLENOSE PLIERS AND OPEN EACH OF THE TREBLES OUT A BIT AS I THINK THEY ARE A TAD TOO CLOSE TO THE BASE RING FOR SOME SPECIES. FOR STRIPER ATTACH 2 OF THE SHORTER HOLDERS TO A TYPICAL RIVER HI-LO RIG USING A 3 TO 6 OZ PYRAMID SINKER DEPENDING ON YOUR AREA S RIVER SWIFTNESS OF CURRENT. IF YOUR BOAT HAS A SOURCE OF HEATING ELEMENT OR IF YOU BRING A CAN OF STERNO TO HEAT SOME DIP TO A MORE LIQUID STATE IT MORE DEEPLY AND THOURGHLY FILLS THE NETTING OF THE DIPLURE. DIP IT IN THE COLD RIVER WATER TO SET IT UP TO FIRM AGAIN. I FISH ONLY FROM MY BOAT SO I CANNOT COMMENT AS TO HOW A HI-LO CASTS FROM SHORE USING LOADED DIP RIG LURES,BUT SHOULD STAY ON AT LEAST AS WELL AS FRAGILE GRASS SHRIMP DO UNDER SHORE CASTING. USE JINGLE BELLS AT THE ROD TIP BECAUSE SMALLER SHAKER SIZES NIP AT THE DIP AND DO NOT TELEGRAPH THE NIPS WELL TO THE ROD TIP.JINGLE BELLS INSTANTLY DETECT THE NIPS."
