"I purchased four of these reels. Two of the medium size, and two of the large size (not the ultralight). Four trips on the water later, and there were constant problems with the bail returns. The line constantly overlaps and catches behind the roller guide. The 8 and 10 pound test line (that I had spooled on), then cuts into the gold plated roller guide holder piece. I'm talking strictly monofilament line here and not braid. This gold plated part is tissue paper thin and the plastic beneath the gold plating (that hold the roller) is very soft plastic. I examined this with a 10X eye loupe and once the line went through the gold plating it dug into the plastic like it was soft butter! This is unacceptable in ANY reel and all four (all with the same problem) were returned to Bass Pro Shops. To their word, they stood behind their product and issued a refund, which I then took and purchased four more spinning reels of a different manufacture. I have fished tournaments for over 20 years and this cheap part destroys the quality of an otherwise smooth reel. This particular part would have to be replaced with a quality part before I would ever consider recommending this product to anyone."
